about bkmrx.org

bkmrx.org is an open source project based on bkmrx.com, built purely in Perl, using the Mojolicious framework, Twitter Bootstrap, MongoDB and the Lucy search engine.

bookmarking is broken

bkmrx is a (small) attempt to bring online bookmarking into the 21st century. bkmrx allows you to be the curator of your own search engine, and your own links. Unlike Google, Bing et al, you can define your own filter bubble.

By open-sourcing bkmrx.org, many minds may be able to fix what delicious and others have so far failed at doing.

There are tons of great resources out there that may spark ideas for contributing to bkmrx.org:

  • Save for later - an excellent user study conducted by Mozilla exploring the concept of 'save for later', and looking at various potential solutions to the problem.
